Michael R. Dunaway of White Lake, passed away May 13, 2017 at 68 years of age. Beloved husband of Barbara. Loving father of Michelle Dunaway, David (Julie) Dunaway, William (Rachel) Hamele, Lisa Sosnowski and James Hamele. Proud grandfather of Logan, Peyton, Emma and the "apple of his eye", Andrew. Son of Elizabeth (William) Campbell and the late Randall Dunaway. Brother of Caryn Wickman. He is also survived by four nieces. Michael R. Dunaway of White Lake, passed away May 13, 2017 at 68 years of age. Beloved husband of Barbara. Loving father of Michelle Dunaway, David (Julie) Dunaway, William (Rachel) Hamele, Lisa Sosnowski and James Hamele. Proud grandfather of Logan, Peyton, Emma and the "apple of his eye", Andrew. Son of Elizabeth (William) Campbell and the late Randall Dunaway. Brother of Caryn Wickman. He is also survived by four nieces. Mike was a devoted member of Pipefitters Local 636 for over 40 years until his retirement in 2013. During his career, he worked as a journeyman pipefitter and also held a number of positions within the union, including serving on the executive board and as vice-president of the union. Prior to joining the union, Mike graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in anthropology. In his spare time, Mike was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Farmington and was an avid fan of Detroit Tigers baseball, Michigan Wolverines football and English Premiere League soccer. Following his retirement in 2013, he and his wife spent their winters in Florida where he enjoyed playing golf with friends.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm, Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of service at noon. Memorial contributions suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Michigan Humane Society.
